Clean eating – what exactly does that mean?
Isle Lose it Old School Burger, homemade 100% beef burger (no bread), dressed with grilled goats cheese, sun dried tomato, caramelized onions, parsnip chips and watercress and rocket salad.
Isle Lose It and The Old School Inn have designed a menu of clean and almost clean foods, enabling you to eat out with your friends and family without feeling ‘left out’, in fact we reckon that once they see what you are eating, they will want some too.
Clean eating simply means enjoying foods that are free from toxins/additives and/or preservatives. The easiest way to look at it is this – if it has flown, swan or been grown in the ground and it is in its original state then it is clean! Clean eating means removing the following toxins that are known to contribute to weight/fat gain and many common illnesses such as IBS, high Blood Pressure, bad skin, stress, bad breath, toilet problems, bloatedness, insomnia etc.
1 Processed foods – all processed foods contain toxins and hidden sugar, in fact, sugar gets into pretty much everything these days including table sauces such as Salad Cream.
2 Alcohol – although not contained in daily foods, alcohol is of course a sugar and if having a slim, healthy body is your priority, giving it a wide birth will bring your desired results much much quicker.
3 Caffeine – as per alcohol. The liver performs a much better job of detoxifation and fat burning when caffeine is taken out completely or at least limited to say one cup per day
4 Wheat and Gluten – again hidden in almost all processed foods. Bread is one of the worst culprits for making us feel sluggish, bloated and fat! Give it a miss for a while and you will soon see a difference
5 Sugar – as I mentioned above, sugar is a real problem for us nowadays. It is hidden in almost everything and like any other ‘drug’ is super addictive – you have sugar, you want more, you have sugar, you want more. Go cold turkey for a few days and you will be amazing at how much better you feel!
